Mohammad Jalaei, the political, security, and social deputy of the Gilan governor, told IRNA that the fire broke out in the clinic, dubbed "First Step of Freedom", at 5:45 a.m. on Friday.
He explained that 40 people were in the rehab clinic for drug addiction when the incident occurred.
The cause of the incident is still unknown, he said.
