Tehran, IRNA – Pirhossein Kolivand, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), has announced that discussions are in progress to establish a field hospital near the Gaza border in Egypt to provide medical care for injured Palestinians.

Negotiations are ongoing with the regional countries to send basic and relief items to Gaza, Kolivand noted.

He had previously condemned the attack on Palestinian medical staff by Zionists, stating that it violated international laws.

On October 7, the Palestinian fighters launched a surprise operation, dubbed Al-Aqsa Storm, outside Gaza after Israeli settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in recent days and a record number of Palestinians were killed by Israel in recent months.

The Zionist regime responded by pounding the besieged Gaza Strip after formally declaring war against the Palestinian Hamas group.
