Tehran, IRNA – Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amirabdollahian has met and talked with family members of Iranian-Lebanese prominent Shia cleric Imam Musa Sadr in Lebanon’s capital Beirut.

During their meeting late on Friday, they discussed various aspects of the case surrounding the kidnapping of the Islamic scholar.

The friendly conversation took place on the anniversary of Imam Musa Sadr’s kidnapping, and Amirabdollahian honored the distinguished personality, historic struggles, and long-lasting services of the top intellectual.

The two sides also discussed issues related to the revered cleric’s tragic kidnapping.

Imam Musa al-Sadr ‎‎who disappeared in Libya in August 1978 is an Iranian-Lebanese philosopher and Shia religious leader from a long line of distinguished clerics tracing their ancestry back to Lebanon's Jabal Amel.
