Urmia, IRNA – Iranian counter-narcotic police have confiscated a 100-kilogram cargo of methamphetamine in the northwestern Iranian province of West Azerbaijan, the provincial police chief has announced.

The operation targeted a drug trafficking gang on the Miandoab-Mahabad road, Second Brigadier General Rahim Jahanbakhsh said on Monday, explaining that after identifying two trucks carrying the illicit cargo of drugs, counter-narcotic police searched the vehicles and discovered 100 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Two trucks and a passenger car were seized, and four individuals were arrested and handed to judicial authorities, Jahanbakhsh added.
