Mashad, IRNA – The commander of the border guard police of Iran's northwestern province of Razavi Khorasan has said that 224,000 illegal Afghan nationals have been deported from the Taybad border point.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Brigadier Majid Shoja said that these illegal Afghan nationals have been identified since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year starting on March 21.

He added that deportation of illegal nationals has seen a 15% growth compared with the same period last year.

During the said period, as many as 30,000 nationals entered through Razavi Khorasan's border crossings illegally.
