Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has stressed the need for an expansion of relations between the country and Mauritania, especially in the field of economic cooperation.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks on Tuesday as he met Iran’s new ambassador to Mauritania Javad Abu.

He underlined Iran’s priority of expanding relations with the Islamic countries.

Meanwhile, Abu elaborated on the latest situation in the West African country of Mauritania where he will start his mission as Iran's new ambassador within the next few days.
