Iran, Mauritania discuss arrangements for OIC emergency meeting

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug have held talks on arranging an Organization of Islamic Cooperation emergency meeting to discuss the situation in Palestine.

Over the phone conversation, the two foreign ministers exchanged views about bilateral ties and regional developments and the issue of Palestine in particular.

Further, Amirabdollahian appreciated Mauritania for successfully holding the OIC ministerial meeting in Nouakchott recently.

The two sides reviewed the situation in Palestine in recent days as the Zionist regime of Israel has repeatedly attacked the Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque and disrespected the holy site.

Iran and Mauritania have urged the Islamic countries to take a united measure to stand against the Zionists' aggressive moves.

In a related development, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has censured the Zionist regime of Israel’s attack on Palestinian worshippers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, saying such a raid once again showed the Zionists’ criminal nature to the world.
