Shafqat Rudsari, who is in charge of Imam Khomeini Naval University of Noshahr in Iran's northern province of Mazandaran province, and his entourage held talks with Head of the Pakistan Naval Academy Admiral Mohammad Khalid during their stay in the port city of Karachi earlier this week.
He also participated in the graduation ceremony and parade of the Pakistan Naval Academy.
During the visit, the Iranian and Pakistani military commanders discussed bilateral cooperation in areas such as training, student exchanges, and the dispatch of naval delegations.
The Pakistani official described the Iranian delegation’s presence at the graduation ceremony as a sign of profound friendship between the two countries and the fact that the two have mutual viewpoints regarding the maintenance of maritime security and stability in the region.
Pakistan and Iran have significantly improved defense and security cooperation in recent years. Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Admiral Shahram Irani arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit last Sunday at the official invitation of his Pakistani counterpart and held talks with army, navy, and air force commanders of the neighboring country.
Last January, an Iranian flotilla, including 2 ships and a submarine, also made an official four-day tour to the port of Karachi located in southern Pakistan.
