London, IRNA – The Union of Islamic Students Associations in Europe has underlined that the Islamic Revolution of 1979 in Iran had its roots in the close relations between the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini and the Iranian people.

The Union issued a statement on Sunday on the occasion of the 34th demise anniversary of Imam Khomeini and the commemoration of the Khordad 15 Uprising, the demonstrations on June 5 and 6, 1963 to protest against the arrest of Ayatollah Khomeini by the former Shah's regime in Iran.

The statement described the 1979 Revolution as the most excellent example of a revolution in terms of having a clear objective and said that the Revolution became successful because it was based on close relations between Imam Khomeini and the Iranian people.

It emphasized that Imam Khomeini’s discourse and his way of thinking should be preserved as a strategic roadmap for the Islamic Republic of Iran and other Muslim nations of the world in their fight against the global arrogance.
