Tehran, IRNA – The Iran Power Grid Management Company (IGMC) has announced that the Bushehr nuclear power plant was successfully reconnected to the country's national grid after an 80-day overhaul and refueling operation.

The IGMC said on Wednesday that the Bushehr nuclear power plant, which has an electricity generation capacity of 1 gigawatt (GW), had been reconnected to the national grid with its maximum capacity late on Monday.

The Bushehr nuclear power plant can supply electricity to a city of 1 million people.

Iran’s first and only nuclear power plant in Bushehr became operational in 2013.
