Ismoilov made the remarks in a meeting with the Governor-General of Iran's Khorasan Razavi province Yaghoub-Ali Nazari on Sunday.
Tourism and economic ties are complementary issues, Ismoilov said, adding that active tourism can result in boosting economic ties between Iran and Uzbekistan.
Pointing out that economic relations between the two sides need to be expanded, he expressed hope that economic relations between Iran and Uzbekistan could develop to a desirable level.
The visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Iran in the near future will lead to the signing of documents so that the economy of the two countries will further develop, said the Uzbek official.
Nazari, for his part, said that Khorasan Razavi province has unique characteristics in the field of animal husbandry and agriculture.
The most important industries in the province are in the field of the food industry, he said, describing iron ore mining as one of the main potentials in the province.
The official said that religious tourism is among other advantages of the region with provincial capital Mashhad hosting about 30 million pilgrims per annum.
Ismoilov, who headed a high-ranking parliamentary delegation, arrived in Mashhad on Sunday after a one-day stay in the Iranian capital Tehran. Four members of the Central Asian country's legislature and senate accompany the senior official in the trip.
