In a Saturday meeting with Iraq's Minister of Water Resources Aoun Dhiab Abdullah in Baghdad, Mehrabian said that Iran and Iraq should seek to further expand their economic and energy cooperation.
Mehrabian is in Baghdad to take part in a regional water conference slated for May 6-8.
He told the conference that water problems currently facing the region are due to both climate conditions and poor management of water resources.
Aoun Dhiab Abdullah, for his part, stressed the necessity of continuing cooperation at ministerial and technical levels between Iran and Iraq as he insisted that Iraq should benefit from the experience of Iranian companies in the field of water resources management.
