Ahvaz, IRNA – Transshipment of goods via Iran's Shalamcheh border crossing increased by 51% in the Iranian calendar year 1401 (ending on March 20), said Director General of Khouzestan Province Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization (RMTO).

Mohammad Joulanejhad told IRNA on Sunday that in the Iranian calendar year 1401, some 1.6 million tons of goods were transshipped through the Shalamcheh border crossing, which indicates a 51% growth compared to the same period of the previous year.

This official said that this amount of goods was transported by 69,066 trucks, adding that the number of trucks increased by 61%  in the Iranian calendar year 1401 compared to the same period last year.

He added also that in the Iranian calendar year 1401, 1.130 million tons of goods were transshipped from the Chazabeh border crossing.
