Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s finance minister has announced that the country may put the formation of a joint chamber of commerce with Saudi Arabia on agenda after the March rapprochement between the two Muslim countries.

Speaking to reporters at his press briefing in Tehran on Tuesday, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ehsan Khandouzi said the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran is after finalizing a road map for relations with Saudi Arabia.

At the first step, the road map pursues revival of economic relations to one-billion-dollar worth, the minister underlined, expressing hope that the two would reach the goal as they are determined to resume economic ties.

As the minister noted, he is to make a visit to Saudi Arabia within the next few weeks.

On March 10, China, Iran, and Saudi Arabia issued a joint statement in Beijing announcing that Tehran and Riyadh would resume their diplomatic relations after seven years of tension.
