Tehran, IRNA – The ambassador of Azerbaijan to Israel has said that his country will not let the Zionist regime use its airfields as a refueling base during a possible aerial attack on Iran.

“Azerbaijan, from the start, has declared that it will not interfere in the internal matters of other countries and will not allow its territory to be used against other countries,” Mukhtar Mammadov has told The Jerusalem Post.

This is because Baku expects other countries not to interfere in Azerbaijan's internal affairs, Mammadov said.

Earlier this month, Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, claimed that Azerbaijan had prepared an airfield to help the Zionist regime in case it decides to attack Iranian nuclear sites.

He also rejected the claim that Baku had allowed Mossad to set up a branch in Azerbaijan to monitor what is happening in Iran.
