– Iran’s alumina powder production tops 190k tons: IMIDRO

Iran produced 190,782 tons of alumina powder during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022-January 20, 2023), according to the data released by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
The figure indicates a nearly one percent drop compared to the output in the 10-month period of the previous year, which was 193,534 tons, reported IRNA.

– Iraq seeks to buy more gas from Iran

Iraq’s Minister of Electricity Ali Fadel announced that his country is currently in the process of finalizing a contract to purchase gas from Iran in the summer season.
In a recent interview with Iraqi News Agency, Fadel emphasized that Iraq needs 35,000 megawatts to ensure 24-hour electricity supply during the summer season. Currently, Iraq’s electricity production is at 15,600 megawatts, and citizens have access to 18 hours of electricity per day.
Fadel also stated that the situation regarding electricity supply this coming summer will be different from previous years. The Iraqi Ministry of Electricity is ready to sign an agreement with Iran to purchase the required amount of gas for the summer season, which will add 7,000 megawatts of electricity to Iraq’s supply.

– Persian Gulf water: Lifeline for Iran’s central deserts

The implementation of the second line of the large desalination and water transfer project, which conveys the Persian Gulf’s water to the central parts of Iranian plateau, is one of Iran’s largest land and water projects and considered a lifeline for the central deserts of Iran, according to an MP.
In an interview with Iran Daily reporter, Mohammadreza Sabbaghian referred to the dry condition of the central plateau regions and the severe lack of rainfall in those regions, and said, “Unfortunately, with the continuation of the process of climate change and the decrease of precipitation in all parts of the world, we have to wait for the expansion of arid areas in the country.”
He emphasized the importance of water in the progress and development of different regions, saying, “Unfortunately, the lack of water has prevented the progress and development of many regions of the country, and instead we are witnessing mass migrations from these regions.”

– Ghadir Petrochemical Company Breaks Output Record

Ghadir Petrochemical Company has broken a 15-year production record, according to a statement released by the company. The Iranian petrochemical firm, based in Mahshahr, has surpassed its previous records and achieved new production milestones over the last 11 months.
Ghadir Petrochemical Company reported that it produced over 123,000 metric tons of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in the month of Bahman, equivalent to January 20 to February 18, 2023 in the Iranian calendar. This amount of production marks a significant increase from the company’s previous records and is unprecedented in its history.

– Turkmenistan, Iran Call for Launching Joint Customs Gate

The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Muhammad Rezvanifar, and the head of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan Maksat Hudaykulyev in a meeting have called for launching a joint custom gate.
The first round of the meeting was attended by Rezvanifar, and Khudaikulyev, besides the accompanying delegation, this morning at Khorasan Razavi Customs, and the second round was held this afternoon at Hudan Customs of Turkmenistan.

– Iranian Futsal Team Downs Egypt in Thailand Tournament

Iran’s futsal team beat Egypt at the NSDF Futsal Championship 2023 underway in Thailand. Iran’s futsal team beat Egypt 3-1 at the NSDF Futsal Championship 2023.
Earlier, Iran’s national futsal team defeated Saudi Arabia 11-0 in the Thailand tournament. Thailand, Mozambique, and Japan are in group A. The tournament is being held in Pattaya city from March 1 to 7.

– Kyrgyzstan too strong for Iran at 2023 IIHF World Championship Division III

Kyrgyzstan overpowered Iran 18-0 in Group B of the 2023 IIHF World Championship Division III on Friday. Iran started the campaign with a 14-4 win over Malaysia in their opening match but lost to Hong Kong 11-1 and Bosnia and Herzegovina 9-2. Team Melli are scheduled to play Singapore on Saturday.

The competition is being held in in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Group A consists of Turkmenistan, Chinese Taipei, South Africa, Luxembourg and Thailand. The Group A tournament will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from 17 to 23 April.

– Iranian children win awards at Japan’s environmental drawing contest

Nine Iranian children have been honored at the 22nd JQA International Environmental Children’s Drawing Contest in Japan. Helma Hassanzadeh, Asma Najafi and Setareh Shaveisi are among the 45 winners of first prizes in the competition, which is organized every year by the Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA) and International Certification Organization Network (IQNet).

Shaveisi’s drawing has been published on the front cover of the JQA contest, which was held on the theme of “Choosing Eco-Friendly Lifestyles”.

– Passenger ferries to begin Bandar Abbas- Hengam Island route

A shipping line between the port city of Bandar Abbas and Hengam Island southern Hormozgan province will be launched for the first time, the provincial tourism chief has said. There will be sea tours offered by this shipping line to promote maritime tourism in this region, Mohammad Mohseni explained on Friday. 

During these tours, cultural and musical programs will be performed for travelers and tourists, and coastal and maritime capacities will be explained by experienced tour guides, the official added.
