Damascus, IRNA – The fifth aircraft of Iran carrying humanitarian aid for the quake-hit people in Syria have landed at the Damascus International Airport.

The airplane transited 45 tons of medical and food aid to Syria. The fourth aid package arrived in Aleppo Airplane Wednesday night.

Iran's Consul General in Aleppo Salman Navab Nouri told IRNA on Wednesday that the aid includes six pallets of tents, three pallets of date, 15 pallets of rice, three pallets of tuna fish, two pallets of spaghetti and tomato paste.

The latest updates of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake, which struck southern Turkiye and northern Syria on Monday, show that the death toll tops 15,000.
