Astara, IRNA – Belarusian Ambassador to Iran Dmitry Koltsov said on Wednesday the two countries have long-running friendly ties and that the European country is ready to expand trade with the Islamic Republic.

Koltsov made the comment during a meeting with Enayat Rezaiepour, the governor of the city of Astara, Gilan Province in northern Iran.

The Belarusian official said that Astara has proper transport facilities and can greatly contribute to the exchange of goods between the two countries.

Rezaiepour on his part said that the northern Iranian city has numerous capacities for cooperation, including its tourism sector.
