Head of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Alireza Peyman-Pak made the remarks in a meeting with representatives of a Russian chain store on the sidelines of the second day of the Caspian Economic Forum in Moscow on Friday.
Payman-Pak also invited the Russian group to visit Iran and become familiar with Iranian companies’ capabilities in order to sign contracts.
He also held talks with one of banking officials of Russia, underlining the need for developing baking cooperation between the two friendly countries, using local currencies, securing financial sources for implementation of projects, and issuing securities.
In the end of the Caspian Economic Forum, the TPO chairman said in the presence of Iranian first Vice President Mohammad Mokhber as well ministers of economy, oil and agriculture participated, and economic players in Russia that the allocated ratio on tariffs of agricultural products should be omitted for goods, which have been mentioned in the free trade memorandum of understanding of the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) in the near future.
Resolving transportation and logistical problems especially in the Caspian Sea as well as issues related to finance and customs measures, exchange of trade and economic delegations, identification of capacities of Russia and Iran in particular in agriculture, oil, gas and petrochemical sectors were among the topics discussed in the meeting.
Mokhber who is in Moscow for the second meeting of the Caspian Economic Forum (CEF) had a meeting on Wednesday with CEOs of 15 Russian businesses active in the fields of energy, oil and gas, shipping, and agriculture.
The first vice president at a joint meeting of the high-ranking delegations of Iran and Russia said that transportation, transit, energy and activating the North-South corridor are the most important axes of cooperation between Iran and Russia, saying that creating a joint bank, electrifying the Garmsar-Inchebron railway and speeding up oil and gas contracts and creating a joint free zone is one of the other areas of desired cooperation that we must pursue seriously.
