Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Mohammad Kazem Al-e Sadegh said on Sunday in his meeting with a member of the Iraqi Parliament that Tehran supports any national figure as Iraq's prime minister.

In the meeting with Khaled Yassin al-Obaidi, Al-e Sadegh said that a strong, stable, and independent Iraq is a factor in stabilizing the region and the world.

He added that Tehran supports any national figure who prioritizes the interests of Iraq, noting that Tehran supports an inclusive government that represents all Iraqis.

Al-Obaidi for his part said that Iraq wants broader ties with its neighbors.

The two sides also discussed political, economic, and security issues, as well as various challenges facing Iraq and Iran.

Recently, the Iranian ambassador to Iraq had met with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, the leader of the National Wisdom Movement.
