Karaj, IRNA - Caspian Conservation Society (CCS) said that it was going to prepare a national pedigree for Iranian Caspian horse breed in collaboration with its members, breeders and Animal Science Research Institute of Iran (ASRI).

CCS CEO Mohammad Javad Dehqan told IRNA on Saturday that the society has completed the case of the first group of Caspian horses, consisting of 120 purebred and foundation stock horses, to be registered nationally and internationally.

He said that the society has done the job in collaboration with owners and breeders of Iranian Caspian horse after three years of nonstop endeavor.

Now all Caspian horses are called to be pedigreed after preparing their identification form, being assessed by breed experts, and undergoing genetic tests, according to Dehqan.

Since the society is the sole body to qualify the breed, he said, no horse in the world would be identified as Caspian horse unless it is pedigreed by the society.
