Islamabad, IRNA -- The Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Border Guards arrived in Pakistani port city of Karachi on Wednesday morning to strengthen bilateral cooperation and attend the International Barracuda-XI Exercise.

Officials of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, Colonel Mostafa Ghanbarpour, Iran's military attaché and Colonel Omid Sarwari, DLO of Iran in Pakistan received Brigadier General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi at the Jinnah International Airport.

The Iranian commander is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of the director general of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.

During the visit Brigadier General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi will meet Admiral Mirza Fawad Amin Beg, director general of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, and participate in the International Barracuda-XI Exercise.

The head and members of Iranian delegation during meetings with Pakistani officials will discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of sea and regional security.

The Barracuda-XI Exercise started on January 11 with the participation of 19 countries and will continue until Thursday. The exercise is taking place in the northern part of the Arabian Sea, in Pakistani territorial waters near the Karachi coastline.
