Islamabad, IRNA -- The representative of Sistan and Baluchestan in the Assembly of Experts, referring to the historical, cultural and religious commonalities between Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan said the two countries are two powerful arms of the Islamic world.

Molavi Nazir Ahmad, a member of the delegation of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in an interview with IRNA said harmony between Iran and Pakistan is a very effective and useful tool against common enemies.

He said Iran and Pakistan are two strong arms of Islam and close cooperation between the elites and thinkers of the two countries paves the way to undermine conspiracy of division and enhance cooperation with other Muslim nations in the region and the world.

Molavi Nazir Ahmad expressing his views said that Iran and Pakistan are the two Islamic neighboring countries having close relations between the people and the two governments and form a strong front against the anti-Islamic conspiracies of the West.

He said that keeping in view their capacities and capabilities, the two countries can form a common front to defend each other's interests and promote the position of the Islamic world.

The Member of Assembly of Experts added anti-Islamic forces, especially the Zionist regime, have evil plans for the region, one of which is division and creation of chaos among Muslim nations and that Pakistan has an important role to play in repelling such dirty plans.

He called for the strengthening of the anti-Zionist front in the Islamic world and the full support of the oppressed nations and the resistance front.

"There is no doubt that the defeat of Israel and its nefarious plans depend on the strong cohesion and unity of Muslim nations,” Molavi Nazir Ahmad noted.

Meanwhile an Islamic Unity Conference was organized by National Solidarity Council of Pakistan, an alliance of thirty religious groups from different Islamic schools of thought at a local hotel on Monday.

Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Hojjatoleslam Hamid Shahriari was chief guest on the occasion.

Shahriari is scheduled to attend various events during his stay in the Pakistani capital, including a meeting with the president of the Islamic Ideology Council of Pakistan and some religious officials and senior Islamic scholars.

Shahriari will also travel to Lahore and Karachi to meet and consult with Pakistani religious leaders.
