Iranian cleric, Pakistani religious leader stress unity of Ummah

Islamabad, IRNA -- The secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and a Pakistani religious leader in a meeting have stressed the need to forge unity among Muslims to face anti-Islam challenges.

The Iranian delegation led by Hojjatoleslam Hamid Shahriari met with Chairman Ummat-e-Wahida Pakistan Allama Muhammad Amin Shaheedi in Islamabad.

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan Mohammad Ali Hosseini, Iranian Culture Counselor Ehsan Khazaei, and Member of Iranian Assembly of Experts Molavi Nazir Ahmad Salami were present in the meeting.

Both sides discussed issues related to Muslim Ummah and further enhancing ties between Iran and Pakistan especially the people to people contacts.

The secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressing on important role of Iran and Pakistan in the Muslim world called for helping oppressed Muslims nations of Yemen, Palestine, Kashmir, and Afghanistan.

Today an Islamic Unity Conference will be organized by the National Solidarity Council of Pakistan under the chairmanship of Sahibzadah Abul Khair Zubair, Secretary General of the Council Liaqat Baloch, with the presence of Hojjatoleslam Hamid Shahriari Hojjatul, Rumi Nazir Salami, and Pakistani personalities in Islamabad.
