Mohsen Khojastemehr told IRNA on the sidelines of a Ceremony to Praise Research at the NIOC in response to a question that the first row of South Pars Phase 14, with capacity of sweetening 12 million cubic meters of gas per day will begin production in January 2022.
He added that each of the two standard phases of the South Pars Field produces 56 million cubic meters of sour gas.
Also in response to an IRNA question on the latest status of South Pars Phase 11, he said that the Phase 11 is the first priority of the NIOC development plans, and its completion is proceeding at a satisfactory speed.
"Next year a part of Phase 11’s production will begin, and by replacing one of the platforms of Phase 12 and in order to accelerate Phase 11’s completion, that phase’s production will start in September 2022," said Khojastemehr.
He said that the sweetening capacity of those phases which are not fully used will be used to boost the sweetening capacity of Phase 11.
The NIOC managing director said that that company has good plans for increasing gas production, reiterating that the priority of increasing the gas production in the country, including gas production in Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field, the first phase of the Kish Gas Field, is producing 130 million cubic meters of gas.
