Tehran, IRNA – Iranian national team bagged two gold medals in the 2021 Men’s World Para Taekwondo Championships in Istanbul, Turkey to rank second in the competitions.

Iran has ranked third in the previous edition of the tournament.

Hamed Haqshenas and Mehdi Pourrahnama won the two gold medals for the Iranian team with the later being named the most technical athlete of the event.

Russia won the first title and Kazakhstan ranked third following Iran.

Last night, Mahtab Nabavi received another gold medal for Iran in Women’s World Para Taekwondo Championships.

Some 264 athletes from 41 countries are present at the tournament which began on Saturday and came to an end today (on Sunday).
