Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s ambassador to Malaysia in a meeting with head of Malaysian official news agency Bernama discussed broadening of cooperation between the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and Berita Nasional Malaysia Agency (Bernama).

In the meeting at Bernama head office in Kuala Lumpur, Ambassador Ali Asghar Mohammadi and Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Mohd Radzi talked about the possibilities for broadening of scientific and cultural cooperation, including in medical and pharmaceutical fields.

Senator Datuk Radzi in the meeting expressed satisfaction over the existing cooperation between IRNA and Bernama, voicing the Malaysian side’s interest in further expansion of cooperation with IRNA, including cosponsoring virtual arts and tourism galleries.

The Iranian ambassador, too, in his meeting with the Bernama chief referred to the unjust US sanctions against the Iranian nation, which led to sorrowful death of thousands of people, especially under Covif-19 pandemic conditions, and presented a report on Iran's achievements in production of coronavirus vaccines and announcing Iran’s readiness for cooperation with Malaysia in production of various types of vaccines.

IRNA and Bernama cooperation dates back to many years ago based on signing official bilateral and multilateral documents, including with OANA news agency of Oceania and Asia, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) news agency NANAP, and the International Islamic News Agency (IINA).
