Khorramabad, IRNA – Dean of Lorestan University in western Iran said that five members of the university’s faculty ranked among 2% most cited scientists in the world.

The ranking has been released by the citation database Scopus.com, Khosrow Azizi said on Sunday, adding that the ranking covers 22 scientific fields and 176 subfields.

Mechanics and polymer professor Dr. Mohsen Izadi, agriculture and water sciences professor Dr. Amirhamze Haqqi Abi, electronics professor Dr. Ali Farmani, mining chemistry professor Dr. Saeed Farhadi and organic chemistry professor Dr. Yaqoub Mansourpanah were the researchers who ranked among 2 percent most cited scientists.

Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database, covering 36,377 titles from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals, according to Wikipedia.org.
