Iran congratulates Iraq on successful parliamentary elections

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh congratulated the government, the nation, and elected representatives of the Iraqi people on the successful holding of parliamentary elections.

Khatibzadeh expressed hope that with the loyalty and empathy of all the elected representatives of the Iraqi people, they will see the formation of a new government.

Pointing to Iran's support of Iraq, he added that the Islamic Republic of Iran -as in the past- is ready to cooperate jointly in the path of comprehensive growth and progress of the two states.
