Abadan, IRNA – Iranian female karate athlete Fatemeh Hedayatnejad won first place in the world karate championship held online.

Abadan Sports and Youth Administration Chair Ali Rezaei said on Monday that Hedayatnejad won gold medal and became champion in Japan Karte Federation world competitions held online hosted by the United States.

850 athletes from 38 countries competed online and sent videos of their performance to be judged by the jury, according to Rezaei.

Hedayatnejad works at Abadan Medical University and is an official referee and coach in this field.
