Tehran, IRNA – The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) said on Thursday that Economic Cooperation Organization initiative Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul (ITI) corridor was activated by two trucks shipping cargo from Karachi to Istanbul.

The IRICA spokesman Rouhollah Latifi said that the trucks entered Iran last night from Mirjaveh border cross in southeast Iran.

He said that Iran has implemented eTIR international system for the first time in the world with Azerbaijan Republic and Turkey and was ready to implement also with Pakistan.

eTIR is a project launched in 2003 by TIR convention parties with the aim of providing an exchange platform for all actors (Customs authorities, holders, guarantee chains) involved in the TIR system.
