Fereydoon Mohammadi added in a press conference that the residing of various ethnic groups in Alborz province has led to a rich combination of the beautiful Iranian handicrafts in that province.
“That has necessitated the need for establishment of an Iranian Handicrafts Complex in this province, and in turn to establishment of a Joint ECO Handicrafts and Souvenirs Market, based in Karaj,” he added.
Mohammadi said that the ECO Market will also provide an opportunity for the Iranians to get acquainted with the cultures and habits of the ECO countries.
“Accordingly, several joint meetings were held with the ECO secretary general and his deputies and very soon the location for the permanent ECO market will be spotted in the presence of representatives from member countries, such as Georgia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Turkey and the like, and the market will soon after that be opened,” said Managing director of Alborz Province Handicrafts, Cultural Heritage and Tourism Bureau.
He, meanwhile, referred to the vast tourism capacities and capabilities of Alborz province, including historical, cultural attractions and natural resorts, ensuring that the required infrastructures will soon be provided relying on the government’s support and the private sector contributions.
