Iranian Foreign Ministry: Preserving territorial integrity among achievements of sacred defense

Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized here on Wednesday that preserving the territorial integrity, defending the soil and borders, and independence of this ancient land are among the achievements of the proud Iranian nations in sacred defense.

A communique issued by the Foreign Ministry on the occasion of the Sacred Defense Week (Iran-Iraq defensive war), further emphasizes: The beginning of the Sacred Defense Week is a reminder of resistance, steadfastness, altruism, braveries, and victory of the noble Iranian nation in defense of the exalted values of the Islamic Revolution and safeguarding the pure soul of Iran, which is thus commemorated.

“That era of ups and downs in the history of dear Iran will remain in the hearts and minds of the people of this land eternally, and the memories of the martyrs and war disabled veterans in Sacred Defense are registered in the proud history of the Islamic homeland for good,” says the communique.

The Foreign Ministry refers to the support of the world powers, led by the United States and the support of some regional countries for the aggressor power, and the emergence of other wars in the Persian Gulf region.

It refers to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s calls for diplomatic talks and dialogue with neighbors, and its still same approach of mutual understanding and dispute resolving, as the only path towards regional peace, security and development.
