Moscow, IRNA – The sixth Caspian Media Forum opened in Astrakhan today (Friday) with the presence of Kazem Jalali, Iranian Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

This Forum was attended by media representatives, political experts, and analysts from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the Republic of Azerbaijan.   

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a message to the conference: "The Caspian Media Forum is a unique platform for sharing experiences and ideas in the field of creating a single information field for the Caspian Sea countries."

The conference is being held in three panels, including "Travel Journalism in the Digital Age", "Cultural Code Preservation, the Role of the Media" and "Educational Media Projects in the New Information Communication System".

The general session of the forum  is also dedicated to the issue of tourism and cultural and ethnic relations in the media space.

In addition, within the framework of this conference, the results of the competition for the best journalistic work of the Caspian Basin countries, entitled "Caspian without borders" will be announced.

The Caspian Media Forum is sponsored by the International Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
