Tehran, IRNA – The head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society said on Sunday that importing coronavirus vaccine has been facilitated and the one million doses imported today were delivered to the Ministry of Health .

Karim Hemmati said that Red Crescent imported 1.11 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday as the 14th batch of vaccine it purchases from China through its Red Cross.

He said that Iran’s Red Crescent Society has so far purchased and imported 15,960,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

Iran has recently seen a surge in the number of new cases and death related to the latest wave of coronavirus spread in the country.

14,767,598 people have received the first dose of vaccine in Iran, from whom 3,813,628 people have also taken the second dose.
