Tehran, IRNA -- Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh condemned the terrorist act in the densely populated Sadr City, in Iraq, and said that Iran is ready to cooperate with Iraq in combating terrorism.

Khatibzadeh, in a message, strongly condemned the recent terrorist act in Sadr City of Iraq.

He described the terrorist act as a continuation of the hideous terrorist scenarios in Iraq that soured Iraq on the eve of the Eid al-Adha.

He expressed his condolences to the nation and the people of  Iran to the nation and the Iraqi government for the tragedy and announced Iran's readiness  to cooperate with the Iraqi government to counter terrorist movements in the country.

According to the Iraqi media, a  suicide bomber killed at least 35 people and wounded dozens in a crowded market in Iraq’s capital Baghdad on Monday, the eve of the Eid al-Adha.

It is the third time this year that a bombing hits a market in the densely populated neighbourhood of Sadr City.
