A ceremony was held in Kerman, southern Iran, on January 6, 2024, in commemoration of 22 school students who were killed in the city after the Wednesday suicide attacks in an area near the burial site of General Qassem Soleimani whose martyrdom anniversary was on January 3. The students were killed when they, along with their family members, had attended the ceremony in Kerman to mark General Soleimani who was assassinated by the US forces in Iraq in 2020. The terrorist group Daesh (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the Kerman twin explosions which killed over 90.
