The agreement which was signed after over two years on June 19, 2021, will be an effective step towards decrease in number of children with rotavirus.
The vaccine would protect against infections with rotavirus that is the main cause of young children's diarrhea.
At the signing ceremony held virtually with participation of Head of IPI Ali-Reza Biglari and Chairman of Bharat Biotech Krishna Ella, the two agreed to provide rotavirus vaccine for domestic vaccination and transfer its production technology.
According to report of Iran's Embassy in India, Tehran and New Delhi have expressed readiness to expand bilateral relations in the areas of health, treatment and joint production of vaccine.
In a related development, Iran's Ambassador to New Delhi Ali Chegeni has expressed hope that grounds would soon be prepared for dispatch of coronavirus vaccine manufactured by Bharat Biotech Company to Iran.
According to experts, agreement between Iran and India can be considered as a basis for further bilateral ties in jointly producing vaccine and exchanging world's modern technologies.
