Islamabad, June 4, IRNA -- The representative of Hindu minority in Pakistan’s National Assembly from the ruling party says late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini turned Iran into a resistant country ensuring its bright future.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf offered his condolences to the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the 32nd anniversary of Imam Khomeini's demise.

He said Imam Khomeini is considered the most influential figure for the nations of the world beyond religious affiliation.

The lawmaker went on to say the way Imam Khomeini led the popular uprising in Iran is a role model for all countries. “He turned Iran into a country of resistant to the threat of oppressive powers,” viewed the politician.

The head of the Hindu Council in Pakistan added the Iranian people have always stood up to threats. “Despite international pressure, they never gave up under the pretext of Iran's nuclear program and proved that they adhere to Imam Khomeini's legacy of independence and the spirit of idealism,” added Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani.

He described Imam Khomeini as an honest, compassionate and far-sighted leader and said he guaranteed the future of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a bright and unique future that is the result of the resistance and unity of the Iranian people based on the ideas of the founder of this country.

The representative of Pakistan National Assembly said Imam Khomeini's role for the unity of Muslim nations is admirable and his thoughts have influenced even other freedom-loving nations of the world and this proves that the founder of Iran does not belong to a single school and religious ideology.

He emphasized the path of popular and historical personalities such as Imam Khomeini should be continued and occasions such as commemorating the anniversary of his demise is an opportunity to explain the personality and thoughts of this great leader to the people by holding programs.

Paying homage to the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani said we are proud of Pakistan's long-standing and fraternal relations with Iran and our constant desire is to strengthen these relations and the stability of friendship between the two neighbors.
