Rasht, May 19, IRNA – Head of Anzali Armenian Caliphate Council, Simon Hovsepian, termed participation in elections as a national duty for all Iranians and said that Anzali Armenians will surely partake in The 2021 Presidential Election.

In an interview with IRNA, Hovsepian said on Wednesday that taking part in elections is a religious and national duty for all Iranians including Muslims, Jews, and Christians.

He further invited all the Armenians in Anzali to participate alongside their other countrymen in the  2021 Presidential Election.

“The Armenian community In Iran partakes in the elections spontaneously for the prosperity of Iranian people and the development of the country,” head of Anzali Armenian Caliphate Council stated.

Iranian Armenians have two seats in Iran’s Parliament.

Iran's 13th presidential election is slated for June 18. Registration of presidential hopefuls started May 11 for five days.
