Baku, March 5, IRNA – The permanent photo gallery of historical relations of Iran and Nakhchivan opened on Tuesday in the Iranian consulate in the autonomous exclave of Nakhchivan, which is a part of Republic of Azerbaijan.

Some Nakhchivan and Iranian officials including Consulate-General Mansour Ayrom, and the head of Aras Free Trade Zone Mohsen Nariman were present in the opening ceremony.

The exhibition, arranged by the attempts of the Iranian cultural attaché in the republic, reviews the 27-year old ties between Iran and Nakhchivan.

Ayrom said in the ceremony that the aim of the gallery is to let the people get acquainted with the development of the ties between Iran and Nakhchivan thorough pictures.

'Preserving the history has an important impact on understanding the political, social and cultural roots of mutual interactions and can illustrate the future for them too.'

Referring to the difficult situation of the region following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Ayrom said that the gallery shows that how the two nations stood by each other in hardships and how the peaceful coexistence continued until today.
