Ayub Khan assured that Power Division will soon hold comprehensive discussion with Iranian side on renewal of agreement for 100 MW electricity import to Pakistan from Iran.
Both sides reiterated to continue jointly exploring further avenues in the field of power generation and transmission.
Iran is the largest exporter and importer of electricity in the Middle East and exports power to Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan. Azerbaijan and Armenia supply electricity to Iran under swap agreements.
Last year Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost had said his country was ready to supply up to 3,000 megawatts of electricity to Pakistan.
