Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA – Deputy Interior Minister for security affairs Hossein Zolfaqari acknowledged Iran's readiness to share its transport capacities in eastern borders for transit, export and import.

Zolfaqari told IRNA on Saturday that the first wheat consignment from India was sent to Afghanistan through Chabahar Port in Sistan and Balochestan province.

He expressed the hope that railway in the region of 'Sham-Tigh' in Khouf city, Khorasan Razavi province, will kick off work soon for shuttling between Iran and Afghanistan.

The railway is due to be linked to railway in Herat city, Afghanistan, and said that in this case a good capacity for transport will emerge in the region.

According to the existing information, upon infrastructural works in Sistan and Balochestan province which is completing now, there would be capacity for goods to be transported from Gwadar Port in Pakistan in this route.

He said that there are good capacities for transport in east of the country and in the near future the region will witness promotion of transport, export and import.

Concerning re-opening Iran's borders with Iraqi Kurdistan Region, the official said that some of the border checkpoints in west of Iran are open and only Parviz Khan Border is closed now.
