Shahr-e Kord, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Prov., Oct 27, IRNA – A senior official with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) here on Monday said the agency will fund six to eight million dollars in Iranian projects annually.

Speaking on the sidelines of a conference on international projects for joint management of Iran natural resources, Kuhi Sato told IRNA that the agency is active in the three fields of environment, natural disasters and development of domestic resources in Iran.

He said JICA is cooperating in projects in over 150 world countries upon their request, adding that the cooperation is aimed at assisting development process in developing countries.

Sato referred to JICA cooperation in collaborative projects in Anzali, Mazandaran, Golestan and the Persian Gulf in Iran and said the agency is now in charge of implementation of a project for the protection of natural resources in Bazoft villages of Kouhrang in Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Province.

He said the project has so far made a progress of 90% and termed people’s participation in the project as satisfactory.

Pointing to the impact of the sanctions on the relations between Iran and JICA, he said officials of the agency have made efforts to have maximum interaction and cooperation with Iran at any time.
