Germany-Iran-China-Neurosurgeon /GNR/ German-basedIranian neurosurgeon to receive China's top award Berlin, Sept 24, IRNA -- German-based Iranian neurosurgeon Dr Majid Samii is to receive China's highest award for his contribution to the medical progress of the Asian country, the Iranian Embassy announced here Monday.
Samii will be awarded the top prize by Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao on October 1 which coincides with the National day of the People's Republic of China.
The Iranian neurosurgeon was selected from among 75 candidates for the so-called 'Friendship Award'.
One of Germany's most renowned neurosurgeons, Samii was elected as Founding President for the Congress of International Neurosurgeons (MASCIN) in early 2003 and presently heads the International Neuroscience Institute (INI) in the northern city of Hanover.
