Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s government spokesperson has emphasized that Iran will not compromise on its national interests, warning the Zionist regime not to overstep the mark.

Speaking to IRNA on Monday, Fatemeh Mohajerani said Operation True Promise II was carried out with the approval of President Pezeshkian as the head of the Supreme National Security Council, where the defense minister also plays an important role as a member.

Until two months after the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, who was Iran’s guest and participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Iranian president, but unfortunately was martyred by the usurping Zionist regime, the Iranian government restrained itself because it was supposed to establish a ceasefire in Gaza, she added.

During the eight years of the Sacred Defense, “we have shown that we do not compromise on defending the country,” she stated.

On October 1, Iran responded to the Israeli assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC General Abbas Nilforushan by launching as many as 200 ballistic missiles toward the Zionist regime’s military and intelligence bases all over the occupied Palestinian territories.

President Masoud Pezeshkian said Wednesday that the Islamic Republic will definitely give a stronger response to Israel if the regime responds to Iran’s retaliatory operation.
