Shahriar, IRNA – Iranian police announced Friday they arrested 261 people on Thursday night, including some foreigners over promoting “Satanism” in Shahriar city, west of the capital Tehran.

According to a statement released by the  police, some 146 men and 115 women were arrested in the operation

Alcoholic drinks, banned under Iran’s Islamic laws, and psychedelic drugs were also seized from them, the statement said.

Those detained had “signs and symbols of Satanism on their clothes, head, face, and hair,” it added.
