Islamabad, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is scheduled to travel to Islamabad on Monday, according to a Pakistani foreign ministry spokesperson.

Mumtaz Zahra said in a statement on Sunday that in his visit to Islamabad which will take place upon an invitation by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Iranian president will lead a politico-economic delegation to Islamabad.

Raisi is also scheduled to visit the cities of Lahore and Karachi, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said that Raisi’s wife will also accompany him in this visit which marks the first visit by a senior Iranian official after Pakistan’s national election and the formation of the country’s new government.
