In a Saturday meeting with Iranian officials in charge of combating narcotic drugs, Raisi criticized other countries, which have not yet shouldered responsibility in this regard.
Pointing to the multiple Iranian agencies involved in the fight against drug trafficking, which is a costly burden for the country, he noted that other countries, in particular Western ones, should be informed and held accountable regarding their responsibilities in this respect.
The president also referred to Iran’s successes in combating trafficking and transit of drugs amid the imposition of cruel sanctions on the Islamic country, asking officials of anti-narcotics headquarters in Iran to focus on combating sources of production and distribution of illicit drugs as well as coordinating joint efforts with the Iranian foreign and intelligence ministries to cooperate with neighboring countries to this end.
