Tehran, IRNA- A senior commander pf Lebanon’s Hezbollah Resistance Movement was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.

According to IRNA citing Lebanese media, Hezbollah and the Israeli army confirmed the killing of Ismail Yusuf Baz, the Commander of Hezbollah’s coastal region, in a drone attack on Ain Baal town in the city of Tyre.

Earlier, the media reported that one of the resistance commanders was martyred in the explosion of his car without giving much detail.

The Israeli army said Baz was responsible for advancing and planning rocket and anti-tank missile launches toward Israeli positions in the occupied territories from southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah, for its part, confirmed Baz’s death and announced that the commander nicknamed Abu Jaafar was martyred on the way to Quds.

Following the Zionist regime’s action, Hezbollah also fired a barrage of rockets at Israeli military bases. Hezbollah reported to have hit an Israeli Iron Dome battery, causing casualties among the Zionist crew.
